Storm Drain Marking
|
The OSU Ecological Engineering Society took part in a campus wide storm drain marking adventure. The hope was to mark all the storm drains around the OSU campus to make the public more aware of the impacts that dumping can have on local rivers and streams. Although the process is still ongoing the hope is to complete the OSU campus and possibly expand to other parts of the city. Big thanks needs to be given to SECOR, especially Krista N. Beb, for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this project.

I found this scene on my way to class one day. Some idiot had dumped a can of paint into the road. I removed the can of paint, but could not prevent what was happening. I followed the trail of paint from its source to where it ultimately drained into a storm drain. Hey, that drain is marked. Guess where the diluted paint went next......to the Olentangy River where it probably did some damage. People need to realize that there actions can hurt others and I am not just talking humans, but all plants and animals. |
